Mozilla preparing a tool specifically designed to collect Firefox user habits when browsing over the Internet. Its purpose is to improve the quality of services in their applications.

Add-on for "spying" users habits will not come with standard Firefox. “Spying” add-on can install only users which like to help by their decision. The collected data will connect the user's geographical location, thus will help to get a picture of user habits, which will be used to improve other applications. From Mozilla said that this add-on will not collect information about which pages are visited, but it will collect just the number of visits to individual pages within a certain period.

The company expects that this add-on will install only 1% of Firefox users, but this will be enough for Mozilla to collect the desired information. Add-on for Firefox will be released in a few weeks with the original code – for those interested in the exact collected data.
