The Olympus E-450 - one of the lightest DSLR in the world

Olympus has announced E-450, a new 10 megapixel DSLR - 380g camera and is one of the lightest DSLR in the world.


The camera is based on the Four Thirds standard and offers 3 filters including Pop Art and Soft Focus, a brighter 2.7 inch LCD screen, Supersonic Wave Filter for dust protection, and 28 shooting modes. Responsible for picture processing is TruePic III+ image processor including improved AF, Face Detection and Shadow Adjustment Technology to boost exposure in dark parts of an image and face detection.

The E-450 has ISO range of 100-1600 and has possibility of continuous shooting of 3.5fps with up to eight RAW images, but it lacks in image stabilisation and video recording.


The Olympus E-450 will be available body only from May 2009 with a single lens kit 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6, and a double zoom kit with the 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 and 40-150mm 1:4.0-5.6 lenses.
