This event brings together technologists, artists, and academics to shape the future of online video. As yet another step in their support of Open Source Video, Kaltura, Yale ISP and PCF (the creators of Miro) are formally announcing the Open Video Conference that will take place in New York City on June 19-20 at the NYU Law School in Manhattan.

Mozilla, another big advocate for opening video on the web, has come on board as a major conference sponsor, and will showcase its commitment to open video with new video features in its popular Firefox browser at the event.

Additional speakers include Professor Yochai Benkler, best-selling author Clay Shirky, and filmmaker Nina Paley. A full schedule of presentations and workshops will be announced in early April.

This event and the potential it holds for the future of online video is very fundamental and essential. You can learn and read more at http://openvideoconference.org
