Vuze is more and more popular BitTorrent manager and player, widely downloaded for every platform, with powerful HD content and video, music and games search, and now with new options like format converter for playing your HD content on every screen (PC, Mac, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, Xbox 360, Playstation 3). Just Drag-and-drop a video from your Vuze Library to the device of your choice, and Vuze will detect whether or not the video format will playback on the device you select, and convert the file for playback if necessary. Vuze has plenty of other advanced options, and becouse is Java based it works on every machine.

If you want to download it from the official site, make sure that you've already installed “jre” from your repositories so the Vuze engine can work. (To read step by step Java and Vuze installation tutorial follow this older DetectorPRO link.) And if you a Ubuntu beginner, here is easiest Vuze 4.2.0.2 installation link from getdeb.net that will set up Java and Vuze on your machine with a single click.

Thankyou, this is brilliant. Just using ubuntu on my shit slow pc, to make it bearable.

Ubuntu so far keeps pace with 7 fairly well, considering the advantage of being able to run happily on ancient hardware.

These tar balls are odd. All installers should be like this, as most people are like me. Windows users.

Hey I know it's been a while since you put this up but I'm curious if you can help. My roommate has a Mac and he downloaded Vuze and that's how I found it. Well on is version he's allowed to share his downloads with various devices. I noticed on your screen shot you don't have the device thing either. I was wondering if there is some way of getting it with Ubuntu cuz I want to be able to stream my music to our 360. Thanks.
