When Ubuntu installation is finished, the fonts are way too sharp, so if you want to enable smooth fonts on Ubuntu follow this easy tutorial:

  1. Go to System/Preferences/Appearance, then choose Fonts tab.
  2. In rendering field click Subpixel Smoothing (LCDs)
  3. After that click on Details button, and on Hinting option select Medium.
Close the open windows and that it's. Now you have smooth and easy readable fonts on Ubuntu system.
