Recently Phoronix.com have interview with the developers responsible for FFMpeg project, and according to them Blu-ray movie can be watched on Linux but there is no broad support, some movies will lack audio support, and there is need of lot manual intervention. They say that at this moment they didn't have a Blu-ray drive, so at this point they have no personal interest in Blu-ray support.
Reading this interview, a few interested parties have offered Blu-ray drives and media to the FFmpeg developers. So, after receiving the donations, the FFmpeg developers will begin to work on Blu-ray support. This is a good sign that Linux Blu-ray project is moving forward.
