How to find the IP address of a web site

All web sites are located on web servers which do have their own IP addresses. In case you need to find out this address, it can be done relatively easy. It is necessary to open the command prompt on your computer and type in the command “ping name of the web site” (more about here). After a few moments you will receive a message that you’ve successfully or unsuccessfully pinged the web site. The whole result of this command is not important, because you will see the IP address of the requested web site in the first few lines of the message.

It is important to note here that you will see only the IP address of the web server that the web site is on, and one server might contain several web sites so do not be surprised if different web sites show the same IP address.

More about ping command and how to use it here.
