Windows tip: Determine services associated with SVCHOST in CMD

This is very hot windows tip. It is usable only for Windows XP Pro. Use this tip if you like to determine which services are associated with SVCHOST in Task Manager. Since so many critical services are run with each svchost you are not sure which service to shutdown to release more memory space or to shutdown some stacked process.

Now, you can see which ones are being used with following next steps:

  1. Start -> Run
  2. Type CMD:
  3. In the CMD windows type:
  4. tasklist /svc /fi "imagename eq svchost.exe"
